Back to the Beach with Pandemic Precautions

A walk on the beach seemed like a good idea Sunday afternoon so that’s what we did yesterday. We weren’t sure what to expect weather-wise (overcast and possibly rain) or access-wise (knowing that restrictions are in effect).

The shrimp trawler Captain BTS coming into Charleston Harbor. That's St. Philip's Church on the left.

Sullivan’s Island was quite lively. The restaurants were busy as were the parks and playgrounds.

Dunleavy's Pub and Poe's Tavern are very popular restaurants here

There were lots of people on the beach, but not too many in the Station 17 area where we parked. I was pleased that there are still some free street parking sections down from the Sullivan's Island Lighthouse.

The restrictions in place included no chairs, coolers, or shade devices like umbrellas. Keep moving one sign said, meaning no laying out. Today wasn’t good for that anyway so we walked a few miles and I took some photographs.

Montage of my photos using Pic Collage and Snapseed for processing- both are excellent free apps

It was a fun beach outing and great to get away from the house for a few hours. The mighty Atlantic Ocean was there as always. It is a comforting sight during these difficult times.
